Quality control in tool manufacturing encompasses a range of activities designed to ensure that tools meet stringent quality standards. It involves rigorous testing, inspection, and evaluation at every stage of the manufacturing process, from design to final production. By implementing effective quality control measures, SCS International can achieve consistency, reliability, enhanced productivity, and cost savings. Embracing robust design, meticulous material selection, process optimization, thorough inspection, and continuous training empowers us to maintain superior quality and meet the ever-increasing demands of customers.

Quality and safety is our first priority when it comes to manufacturing a tool.  Quality control measures in manufacturing OPNBar helps us to achieve consistent and reliable performance. We embrace new technologies and industry best practices to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to evolving market demands.

Material and Design

OPNBar is made of 3lbs-3.6lbs of high-quality steel and has been tested for maximum strength and durability. OPNBar’s construction ensures that it can safely withstand the forces needed to open and close tough shipping container doors.

OPNBar’s capacity to withstand forces needed to handle container doors is demonstrated by strength in testing.  We have made sure that the tool will be steadfast and dependable even in the face of difficult working conditions by using high-quality steel. OPNBar’s durable design ensures endurance and it is a trustworthy ally for operators working with container doors.

Safety Features

Our tool was made using best practices and quality control procedures to lower the possibility of breakage or malfunction.

We also recognize the importance of user education and training for best safety practices. We offer thorough user manuals and instructions that describe how to use, maintain, and take safety precautions with our products.  For instructions on how to use OPNBar, visit https://www.shippingcontainertool.com/instructions/

OPNBar Quality Testing

We recognize the significance of quality control and testing.  OPNBar has been sent to an independent testing facility, Orange Coast Testing, to test and confirm the quality of OPNBar.

Orange Coast Testing

Orange Coast Testing is a well-known testing facility that focuses on offering services for quality control, product testing, and material testing. Modern testing facilities and highly skilled personnel execute a variety of tests to guarantee the sturdiness and longevity of our instrument. These tests include, among others, bending, compression, and tensile strength testing.

Orange Coast Testing conducted a rigorous strength test on OPNBar. The test involved applying varying amounts of pressure to six distinct points—labeled C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6—using a state-of-the art metal compressor machine.

Up until the metal’s breaking point, the pressure gradually increased. The test results showed a range of strength capacities, from 2,000 PSI to 6,000 PSI.

Disclaimer: While force is mentioned here for testing purposes, use caution using OPNBar for opening and closing shipping container doors; Use of force is not recommended as this can also bend shipping container door handles.

Identification of individuals responsible for ensuring quality control

We’ve invested in helping workers throughout our supply chain to learn new skills.  Persons responsible for quality assurance are available in an advisory role to employees on matters related to quality systems and regulations.

Whether or not subcontractors are used and, if so, the quality control measures used to ensure acceptable subcontractor performance

When needed, SCS International engages subcontractors on our contracts as necessary and will leverage our existing relationships within our network with subject matter experts and technicians for any and all pieces of work.  Every subcontractor that supports SCS International is required to participate in onboarding orientation to be made aware of our quality standards and performance expectations

How potential problem areas and solutions are handled

SCS International identifies the need for corrective and preventive actions on a continual basis during project implementation through the management and technical assessments and reviews.  We will define responsibilities to schedule, perform, document, and ensure the effectiveness of the corrective action based on the problem at hand such as:

  • Conduct root-cause analysis to determine quality system weaknesses
  • Determine the specific corrective action that is needed to eliminate the problem
  • Determine specific and appropriate measures needed to prevent recurrence of the problem
  • Assign responsibility for investigating and documenting the situation
  • Set a schedule for determining the required corrective actions
  • Assign responsibility and schedule for implementing the required corrective actions
  • Establish the desired outcome and effectiveness of the corrective action, and then implement
  • Verify that the corrective action has eliminated the problem and document it in a corrective action report

The procedures for ensuring quality performance when meeting urgent requirements

SCS International adheres to our quality system procedures when new and urgent, requirements are identified.  If a quick resolution or solution is required we engage our staff for technical engagement and to provide oversight of quality performance to ensure that there is never a single point of failure.

How quality control will be managed when completing multiple projects for multiple agencies simultaneously

SCS International will discuss risk mitigation and any corrective actions to be reviewed. We ensure a quality system by designating managers to key quality management responsibilities and holding all staff and sub-contractors accountable for the quality of their work.
